Wright Line Presents Cutting-Edge Analysis of Data Center Airflow Efficiency
WORCESTER, MA, March 1, 2010 - Wright Line, leading manufacturer of airflow management solutions for the data center today announced that it will present possibly the most comprehensive case study ever performed on cold aisle containment. The case study will be featured at the International 6SigmaDC User Conference and Training event, hosted by Future Facilities, at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City, March 4 and 5.
Incorporating the use of data loggers on every IT device within the containment region, the cold aisle containment study was performed for BayCare Health Systems’ facility in Tampa Bay, Florida. It used real airflow measurements for validated 6SigmaDC CFD models to establish root cause thermal issues.
Brent Goren of Wright Line’s Professional Services Division will make the presentation. With more than 15 years experience working within IT environments, he has in-depth knowledge of data center power and cooling issues and has taken a lead role in building a practice surrounding CFD modeling and airflow management.
Mr. Goren, who will be speaking on March 4 (the first day of the conference), will discuss the methodology Wright Line’s Professional Services Team used to conduct the field measurements of BayCare Health’s cold aisle containment area and how the group formulated prescribed boundary CFD models in 6SigmaDC. He will also explain how the resulting model highlighted the root cause of the problems and present the solutions that resolved the underlying issues.
Future Facilities International 6SigmaDC event will include not only user presentations and advanced tutorials, but also workshops on efficiency, calibration, troubleshooting and industry standards using the 6SigmaDC software suite.
